2019 - Canadian Association of Geographers/l’Association canadienne des géographes (CAG/ACG) Award for Service to the Profession of Geography/Le prix pour services rendus à la profession de géographe. This award recognizes a member of the CAG/ACG for exceptional professional service over a period of years that has significantly advanced the profession and practice of geography in Canada. 2010 - Awarded the distinction “Geographer of the Week” by the Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG) in recognition of my efforts in organizing the Canadian Association of Geographers - Ontario Division (CAGONT) 2010 Annual Meeting (November 2, 2010).

2005 - Awarded the distinction “UNIGIS International Fellow” by the UNIGIS International Association (www.unigis.net) based in the Netherlands in recognition of outstanding and sustained contributions to excellence in Postgraduate Education in Geographic Information Science and Systems.
