Sameralm

We will be hiking up to the to the Department of Geography and Geoinformation, University of Salzburg mountain research station Sameralm in the morning on September 21. The station is located on a south-facing slope at an elevation of 1510 metres above sea level (asl).

We will return to the starting point in the Werfenweng-Wengerau area at 3:00 pm on September 22. The trail up to the station is a mountain trail and therefore you should bring appropriate footwear.

Natural spring water is available both inside and directly outside the station.

Planned Activities:
(subject to change due to weather)

During the hike up and after arrival:
You will make observations related to alpine geomorphology and mass wasting.

During the morning of the 21st:
You will conduct geomorphic and lichenometric investigations in high alpine regions.

During the afternoon of the 22nd:
The group will examine the impact of tourism and alpine farming on the landscape.
